LESLIE M. ALLEN, wife of George C. Allen and daughter of W. S. and Delilah Jackson, was born Dec. 24, 1883, and died Jan. 16, 1911, aged 27 years, 22 days. She leaves 5 children, one an infant two weeks old. Her mother died when she was 3 ½ years old. Her grand parents took her and raised her to womanhood. On her twentieth birthday she was married George C. Allen who survives. Funeral services were held at Cooper's Chapel conducted by Rev. McHargue. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. Her last words were, "Oh! How I welcome death." She was converted and joined the U. B. church at Coal Creek Chapel in February, 1899, under preaching of him who preached her funeral, Rev. McHargue.
